TTLC’s First Habitat for Humanity Volunteer Day!

We want to share with the you Denver team’s first Habitat for Humanity Volunteer Day on September 30th!

First of all, thank you so much to our awesome volunteers that joined us: Alex Kimball, Chase Siegel, Lana Liley, Rosalie Watkins, Rosina Gaye, and Zell Cantrell!

On September 30th, TTLC sponsored an Adopt-A-Day Event, which included a donation along with an opportunity for us to volunteer. The full day commitment took place in a new construction site where we all did various tasks to help build these new homes in our communities. We were all exhausted by the end of the day, but it was a very rewarding experience!

For those of you who are not familiar with Habitat for Humanity, it is a global non-profit organization working in local communities in all 50 states and about 70 countries. Their vision is of a world where everyone has a decent place to live. A common misconception is that Habitat gives homes for free. In reality, it builds partnerships with families in need of decent and affordable housing. The partnership involves giving Habitat homeowners affordable mortgages and resources to build stability and self-reliance. This aligns very well with one of our own Core Values, Creating wealth and using it to make the world a better place.

While this is the first time we have volunteered with this organization, I am looking forward to making this a yearly opportunity and continuing to grow our involvement with Habitat for Humanity!
